One Surf Fly Tournament; Deec. 5, 2009, 6AM-Noon
Want to do some fun winter flyfishing that doesn’t require 6 hours of driving or an arm & a leg for guides?
Come to the One Surf Fly Tournament being held at Huntington State Beach on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009,6AM-noon, sponsored by Bob Marriott’s Fly Shop.
The One Surf Fly Tournament is a unique, FREE, in-the -surf contest that features your fly fishing skills using one randomly-selected fly.
Participants draw blindly from a bag filled with donated flies and that’s the one you use for the 2 hours of the contest.There will be prizes for; 1) first fish, 2) largest fish and, 3) most fish over that 2 hours. Also, the fly tier donee that has winning flies also will win a prize.
And—there’s more: there will be a raffle & award presentation on Bob Marriott’s Fly Shop in Anaheim starting at 11AM. Raffles tickets are $5 each and 5 for $20.Raffle prizes include an Abel salt water reel, custom surf-weight FF rod, Patagonia waders and more.All proceeds to to South Coast Chapter, Trout Unlimited for their work with southern steelhead recovery on San Mateo and San Juan/Trabuco Creeks.
