Southern Steelhead Recovery Comment Period Extended
Recently, National Marine Fishery Service (NMFS) rolled out their long-awaited southern steelhead (SS) plan at a series of meeting, closest being in Carlsbad, Aug. 25.
The public comment period was extended from Sept. 21 to Nov. 21. NMFS is the lead federal agency on SS recovery and listing/delisting of the Endangered Species Act (ESA).
As SS is the South Coast Chapter’s main species focus, we will be participating in this comment period and will post our comments on this website.
